Speak Up. Speaking up can be done in the simplest of ways. You do not have to hold signs at a protest or project your thoughts and ideas to everyone you meet. You can speak up by simply bringing awareness to one person or not holding back about the things you might be going through.

Do Your Research. You do not have to know everything on the subject, but having a general understanding of mental health and the way it can affect your life and the life of others is important and beneficial to help in reducing the stigma. The more people are aware, the greater the impact we may be able to have. Additionally, if you are struggling, making sure that you take the time to understand what you’re going through and ways in which you can work through it can help everyone in the long run.

Coping/Healing Mechanisms. No matter how far along you are on your journey with accepting and bringing awareness to mental health, there will often be times where things feel increasingly difficult. Maybe you are having trouble accepting yourself or someone else, or maybe you are feeling unsupported and misunderstood by those closest to you. Having steps that you can take during those difficult moments can sometimes make all the difference.
